Law School of Shandong Jianzhu University was originated from Department of Business administration established in June 1999, and then was renamed Department of Law and Politics. In June 2016, Law School was established on the basis of former Department of Law and Politics. Law School takes "entering the mainstream, advocating intersection, emphasizing application and creating characteristics" as the guiding ideology of discipline construction, and aims to cultivate high-level talents in legal and social work with "solid foundation, fast adaptation, strong ability and high quality". Law School has formed the characteristics of application-orientation and achieved high popularity in Shandong Province.
Ø School characteristics
Law School now has two undergraduate majors of law and social work, two master's programs of law and social work, and carries out double degree minor education in law. Students can minor in Engineering Cost and other majors, obtain double degrees after graduation, and create an interdisciplinary compound knowledge structure. Law School has been successively rated as Qilu Legal Culture Construction Research Base and Shandong Government Legislation Research Base of Shandong Province.
Law School has formed the advantage in the field of Construction Law. In 2012, it was rated as the brand characteristic specialty of the University. In 2013, it was listed as the Key Specialty of the Provincial Famous University. In 2017, it was authorized to award the master of law degree. In 2020, the law major was listed as the First-Class Undergraduate Specialty in Shandong Province.
The major of social work forms the discipline orientation of "social construction and urban-rural community governance", and carries out practical research in the fields of urban-rural integration and community development, social organization management, and the development of healthy communities. The major pays attention to integration, actively serves the local areas, enjoys a good social reputation in the province, and was authorized to award master degree of social work in 2021.
During the 13th Five Year Plan period, Law School undertook more than 110 scientific research projects, including 6 national projects, 28 provincial and ministerial projects and 25 projects delegated by governmental entities and enterprises with a total fund of more than 3.9 million Yuan, published 76 high-level papers and more than 30 books, won the second prize of Shandong Provincial Excellent Teaching Achievement Award, and five teachers won the first prize of Provincial Young Teachers' Lecture Competition. Law School has presided over 7 provincial educational reform projects and published more than 10 teaching materials.

The college has 55 faculty members and 51 full-time teachers, including 10 professors and 16 associate professors, with a doctorate rate of 59.2%. There are 17 tutors for postgraduates.

Seven teachers has experience of visiting research at famous universities in the United States, Netherlands, Sweden and the United Kingdom. One teacher got PDd degree of law in Germany, one teacher got doctorate in Sociology from Moscow University, and one Teacher got PDd degree of law from sinro University, South Korea. The college actively participates in the national Double Hundred Talents plan and exchanges temporary staff with courts and procuratorates. The college has successively employed experts and scholars from the courts, housing and construction administrative departments, enterprises, scientific research institutes, law firms and other units, as well as industry experts such as lawyers. We have 15 part-time (visiting) professors, 7 part-time master tutors, and 22 practice instructors from governmental agencies and enterprises.

The college forms a "823" teaching and scientific research platform. Relying on our eight research centers (urban issues, construction law, green building policies and regulations, Engineering Law, community governance research center, enterprise compliance center, legal service for projects with foreign affairs and aging and social welfare research center ), "two sessions" (Jinan Engineering Law Research Association and Shandong Engineering Law Research Association) and "three think tanks" (Humanities and Social Sciences think tanks of colleges and universities in the 13th five year plan of Shandong Province: Research Institute for sustainable development of urban and rural construction, Qilu research base for the construction of legal culture, and Shandong Provincial Department of justice government legislative research service base), provide intellectual support for solving complex legal and urban and rural community governance problems in the engineering field, and accept the entrustment of government departments to provide legislative consultation and normative document evaluation.
It has formed five stable backbone disciplines: Civil and commercial law, environmental and resource protection law, criminal law, constitutional and administrative law and social governance. It has focused on "Engineering Law" and "urban and rural community governance" to carry out a series of studies with distinctive characteristics, forming a research on the protection of the rule of law for criminal issues in the fields of land, engineering construction, government supervision, ecological and cultural construction and construction and urban and rural community governance. Therefore, it has obvious research advantages. Ø Undergraduate Program
School of Law has actively carried out the construction of practice and training bases and formed a diversified collaborative education platform and exchange and cooperation system of “schools, governments, social enterprises and institutes”. First, we strengthen the cooperation with the government departments, and cooperate with the Justice Bureau of Jinan to set up the “Legal Aid Center Building Workstation”, and with Jinan Intermediate People’s Court to jointly build the “Construction Project Dispute Litigation and Mediation Center” legal practice organization. Jinan Jianda Social Work Service Center, a professional social work organization, was registered in Jinan Civil Affairs Bureau, and Qinghe Station, the first professional social work station at street level in Shandong Province, was established. Law Major
Law School has been enrolling undergraduates since 2002. In 2008, the law major was offered as a double-major minor for undergraduates. In 2013, it was selected as Key Construction Major of Characteristic Universities of Shandong Province for Cultivating Application-Oriented Talents and Construction Point of Characteristic Majors for Undergraduate Universities in Shandong Province.
There are 29 full-time law teachers, with a doctoral rate of 72.41% and a student-teacher ratio of 16:1. 22 teachers work as part time lawyers, judges or arbitrators, accounting for 81.48% of double-qualified teachers. One teacher has been employed as the municipal legal adviser, and one has been selected as an expert in the legal adviser expert database of the provincial government. What’s more, 14 teachers have been appointed as members of the expert committee of the government at all levels or the consultant database, and many teachers have participated in the legislative demonstration at or above the provincial level. A teaching and scientific research team of “Academic Leader” and “Characteristic Teaching Team” has been basically formed. Five people have won the first prize in the provincial Teaching Competition for Young Teachers for three consecutive years, one person has won the second prize in the first Teaching Innovation Competition of Shandong Province (Professor Group), and one person has been awarded the provincial Teaching Famous Teacher. More than 3,000 law majors have been well-trained, with an employment rate of more than 90%. In particular, graduates engaged in engineering legal services in the construction industry can quickly grow into legal supervisors or backbone talents. The rate of postgraduate entrance examination is increasing year by year. Social work major
The major of social work began to enroll undergraduates in 2003，which is an early university in Shandong Province to set up this major. In 2012, it initiated the establishment of a professional social work organization - Jinan Jianda Social Work Service Center. In 2020, our school was authorized to award master degree of social work.
With the training goal of "emphasizing practical skills and highlighting personalization", social work major carries out teaching and research in the fields of elderly social work, urban-rural integration and community governance, community development, social organization management, social assistance and social work, and is committed to serving urban and rural social construction. Social work major has formed theoretical and practical research advantages in the field of "social construction and urban and rural community governance", which is recommended by the professional master's degree authorization point in Shandong Province in 2020. The college is a director unit of China Social Work Education Association and a member unit of China Social Work Supervision Committee. Our school establishment Jinan Jianda Social Work Service Center, which is the third university in Shandong Province with professional institutions and carrying out front-line social work services.
