On May 25th, a delegation of five people from Heriot-Watt University in the UK visited Shandong Jianzhu University, including Muhammed Basheer, Dean of School of Energy, Geoscience, Infrastructure and Society, and Neil A. Dunse, Director of Internationalisation of School of Energy, Geoscience, Infrastructure and Society.
Yu Dehu, Deputy secretary of the Party Committee and President of the University, met with the guests and extended a warm welcome to the guests. He hoped that through this visit, the two sides could establish friendly and cooperative inter-university relations as soon as possible and gradually carry out exchanges and cooperation in teacher and student exchanges, joint training, teaching and scientific research cooperation and other aspects. During the meeting, Li Xiao, the Director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Office, introduced the basic information of Shandong Jianzhu University and relevant details about international exchange and cooperation, offering suggestions for cooperation between the two universities. Neil A. Dunse presented the educational situation of Heriot-Watt University and the current status and future directions of international cooperation. Muhammed Basheer mentioned that the two universities share many commonalities and can engage in substantial exchanges and cooperation in various aspects. Both parties engaged in in-depth discussions on student exchanges, joint doctoral programs, teaching collaborations, research cooperation, and reached consensuses on many aspects.
After the meeting, accompanied by President Yu Dehu, the delegation visited the teaching and research facilities of the School of Civil Engineering.
