Shandong Jianzhu University Prospectus for Prospective International Students

(2022)

1. Introduction

Shandong Jianzhu University (SJU), jointly established by Shandong Province and the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, was founded in 1956. The University currently has more than 27,000 full-time students (including more than 200 international students). SJU is located in Shandong Province, the birthplace of Confucian culture. Shandong is an important province in terms of culture and economy on the east coast of China. It is also a significant strategic fulcrum for the countries and regions along the New Eurasian Continental Bridge Economic Corridor and the Maritime Silk Road. Jinan, with its natural and ecological beauty, is a strategic location for the transfer of dynamic energy from the north to the south and the two-way opening of the land and sea, and is an important gateway to the outside world in the Yellow River Region.

SJU has become a well-known university with a long history, profound cultural heritage, strong academic strength, and extensive international influence. It is an ideal institution for students at home and abroad to pursue further study.

The campus covers a land area of more than 160 hectares, with a building area of more than 660,000 square meters. The university includes 20 schools and 4 institutes. It provides 58 undergraduate programmes, 1 postdoctoral programme, 1 PhD programme, 17 first-level master’s programmes, 62 second-level master’s programmes and 9 professional master’s programmes.

The university is also one of the first authorized universities that are eligible to recruit international students in China. The university attaches profound importance to international exchanges and cooperation. With an open mind, the university has established partnerships with more than 80 universities from over 30 countries and regions, including Australia, the USA, New Zealand, the UK, Canada, and so on. Currently four
