On March 23rd, Sergei Leonovich , Dean of the School of Civil Engineering of Belarusian National Technical University, foreign academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, professor, Shandong Province “Double-Hundred Talent Plan” Foreign Expert, Mr. Andrei Leonovich from Belarus, and Gilian Gerke, professor of Magdeburg University of Applied Sciences of Germany, visited our school. Accompanying the visit to our university were leaders from the School of Civil Engineering at Qingdao University of Technology.

    In the morning, Yu Dehu, the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and the President of school, warmly received the guests. He expressed a warm welcome to the visitors and enthusiastically introduced them to the relevant information about Shandong Jianzhu University. He reviewed the achievements of the exchange and cooperation with the three foreign experts and emphasized the need to strengthen academic exchanges and cooperation in the future. He also gave a detailed presentation on the university's information technology development, including the progress of information-related disciplines, the establishment of digital teaching resources, and illustrated the current status and applications of the university's information technology platform through practical examples. Both sides at the meeting exchanged views on issues related to the information technology development in universities. Representatives from the International Exchange and Cooperation Office, Office of Academic Research, the School of Civil Engineering, and the School of Municipal and Environmental Engineering participated in the discussion.

    In the afternoon, Professor Sergei Leonovich and Mr. Andrei Leonovich respectively delivered presentations titled “Basic Experimental Research on Nano-modified High-strength Concrete Composite Structures under Multifunctional Impact” at the School of Civil Engineering and “Smart City Research” at the Smart City Exhibition Hall. Professor Jilian Gage gave a presentation on "Solid Waste Disposal and Resource Utilization" at the School of Municipal and Environmental Engineering. Teachers and graduate students from 

relevant disciplines and majors participated in the above presentations and interactive discussions.

     This academic exchange activity was a rare opportunity for young scholars of our university to exchange and learn with overseas high-level talents. Young teachers and students of the two disciplines actively participated in the activity and the atmosphere was warm. International academic exchange activities will play a positive role in promoting the construction of international teaching staff, opening up international teaching and research cooperation paths, and enhancing the 

overall level and international competitiveness of the university.
