From September 25th to 30th, Cheng Qiang, a member of the Party Committee and Vice President of Shandong Jianzhu University, led a delegation to visit Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. The delegation carried out a series of exchange activities centered on deepening cooperation among BRAUIC members, promoting friendly inter-university exchanges, university-enterprise collaboration, and jointly building an international Chinese language education platform. Through participating in the 2025 Conference and Forum of the International Alliance of BRAUIC Universities, visiting universities, and visiting enterprises, the delegation actively expanded practical cooperation with universities and enterprises in Central Asia, achieving remarkable results.

During the visit to Almaty, Kazakhstan, the delegation attended the 2025 Conference and Forum of the International Alliance of Universities in the Field of Construction under the Belt and Road Initiative, and visited the Kazakhstan Institute of Architecture and Civil Engineering. The delegation participated in the preparatory meeting of the alliance, the alliance conference and forum, the working meeting of the professional committee, the observation of talent cultivation and the visit to the technical platform. The representatives of the international alliance unanimously agreed that Shandong Jianzhu University would host the conference in 2026. At the flag-raising ceremony, Cheng Qiang extended sincere invitations to all member units and expressed that Shandong Jianzhu University would fully leverage its disciplinary advantages, gather global wisdom, host the next conference well, and promote in-depth cooperation and coordinated development of "Belt and Road" universities in the field of construction. The BRAUIC has six professional committees, each focusing on areas such as urban planning and architectural design, civil engineering and intelligent construction, resources and environment and renewable energy, smart cities and intelligent transportation, robotics and artificial intelligence, and digitalization of cultural heritage. Our university, as the leading unit of the professional committee in the field of smart cities and intelligent transportation, hosted a parallel meeting. Cheng Qiang presented a special report on the progress of the preparatory work and future development suggestions. During the meeting, Cheng Qiang also attended and witnessed the unveiling ceremony of the Uzbekshestan branch of the Lu Ban Academy.

After the meeting, the delegation conducted on-site research at the laboratory of the Kazakhstan Institute of Architecture and Civil Engineering and had exchanges with relevant experts, professors and administrative staff. They gained a deep understanding of the school's experiences and practices in terms of the open sharing of experimental equipment, teaching and research. The delegation also had discussions on the studies, lives and employment of international students. Cheng Qiang encouraged international students to have lofty aspirations, study hard and become talents as soon as possible, and strive to promote international friendly exchanges and cooperation.
