Visit to Shandong Jianzhu University by President Juan Manuel Corchado of Universidad de Salamanca, Spain
From April 21 to 22, 2026, Professor Juan Manuel Corchado, President of Universidad de Salamanca, Spain, visited Shandong Jianzhu University to inspect the preparation of the School of Salamanca and communicate with our university on cooperation matters, jointly planning the blueprint for exchanges and cooperation between the two universities. Yu Dehu, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of Shandong Jianzhu University, and Wang Qingbiao, Member of the Party Committee and Vice President, attended relevant activities.
First of all, on behalf of the university, President Yu Dehu warmly welcomed President Juan Manuel Corchado and his delegation, thanked him for his outstanding work in the application of the first non-independent legal person Chinese-foreign cooperative education institution of Shandong Jianzhu University, and introduced the basic situation of the university, especially the internationalization strategy. President Juan Manuel Corchado introduced the history, disciplinary advantages and international education of Universidad de Salamanca. The two sides communicated and exchanged views on cooperative education, talent training, academic exchanges and other matters, further consolidating consensus on cooperation.
After the meeting, accompanied by Yu Dehu and Wang Qingbiao, Juan Manuel Corchado and his delegation successively inspected the teaching and logistics support facilities of the School of Salamanca, including the exhibition hall, office area, teaching area, fitness center, professional laboratories, academic lecture hall, engineering training center, and Sakura Park Expert Apartment. They then visited campus landscapes such as the Architectural Wood Specimen Hall, Railway Architecture Exhibition Hall, Old Villa, Phoenix Mansion, and Seaweed House.
At the School of Salamanca Exhibition Hall, Juan Manuel Corchado delivered an on-site academic report entitled Generative AI, RAG and AI Agents: Reclaiming Human Control over Intelligent Systems for teachers of our university. As a renowned expert in the field of artificial intelligence, Juan Manuel Corchado first introduced the extensive application of artificial intelligence in various fields of social life, and then focused on explaining how humans control and use artificial intelligence systems to serve human society. His report was simple and profound, with active interactions between teachers and a warm atmosphere. Subsequently, Juan Manuel Corchado stated that Universidad de Salamanca attaches great importance to the construction of teaching staff, and the two sides will exchange teachers for teaching and research cooperation to jointly improve teaching and research capabilities and cultivate more outstanding talents.
After the inspection and visit, the two sides held formal talks. Wang Qingbiao presided over the talks. President Yu Dehu introduced the progress of the preparation for the School of Salamanca and put forward suggestions on further strengthening cooperation between the two universities. Regarding the construction of the School of Salamanca, Juan Manuel Corchado elaborated on the working ideas and measures of Universidad de Salamanca. He stated that Universidad de Salamanca would fully devote itself to curriculum development, faculty selection and other work of the School of Salamanca to ensure the quality of talent training. In addition, he would vigorously promote in-depth cooperation between the two universities in scientific research, cultural exchanges and other fields, striving to build a new model of Sino-Spanish educational cooperation.
This visit marks an important milestone in deepening exchanges and cooperation between the two universities. It has effectively promoted the construction of the School of Salamanca of Shandong Jianzhu University, built a solid bridge for in-depth cooperation between the two universities in cooperative education, faculty and student exchanges, scientific research cooperation, talent training and other fields, and helped continuously improve the international education level of our university. Taking this visit as a new opportunity, the two universities will further accelerate and expand exchanges and cooperation, forming a more comprehensive, wide-ranging, multi-level and proactive cooperation pattern, and contributing to high-level educational exchanges and cooperation between China and Spain.
