The “Belt and Road” International Alliance of Architecture Universities 2020 Conference and President Forum was held on the afternoon of October 30. As one of the members of the alliance, our school fully participated in this conference. President Jin Fengxiang and Vice President Fu Chuanguo attended the meeting and Jin Fengxiang delivered a keynote speech. The principal of academic affairs office, graduate studies office, scientific research Office, school of civil engineering, school of management engineering, school of architecture and urban planning, school of art, school of business and all the staff of the office of international exchange and cooperation and school of international education attended the meeting. A total of 26 universities from 12 countries, including our university, participated in the conference. The conference was conducted online and offline, with simultaneous translation in Chinese, English, French and Russian.

The conference agenda was divided into three items. The first item was the alliance conference, chaired by Anne-Catherine Kittard, executive chair of the 2020 alliance conference and vice president of JUNIA, France. Tilly Ouke, president of JUNIA, Jiang Zeting, chairman of the Council of Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture, Yu Haiyong, deputy director of the foreign affairs office of Beijing municipal people’s government, Huang Kan, the chief inspector of Beijing municipal education commission, and Salvatore Castigran, deputy head of Hauts-de-France, delivered speeches, then Zhang Ailin, chairman of the alliance and president of Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture, reported the work summary of the alliance in 2020 and the work plan of the alliance in 2021.

The second item of the conference was the president forum, chaired by Zhang Ailin, president of Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture, and a total of 15 presidents made keynote speeches. Our school president Jin Fengxing made a speech titled “giving full play to the advantages of civil construction disciplines, all the way to promote the cooperation and communication between architecture universities in One Belt and One Road, and he introduced the school actively promote the practice and vision of cooperation and exchanges between other architecture universities, and put forward the initiative: we can further develop talent training and teaching cooperation, strengthen the cultivation of international talents; continue to promote scientific research cooperation and share research results; strengthen and expand friendly and cooperative relations between universities, enhance cultural exchanges, and carry out university-enterprise cooperation.

The third item of the conference was awards presentation for the winning works of the alliance competition. Four teams from the school of civil engineering, school of architecture and urban planning, and school of international education participated in the 2020 “Belt and Road” Architecture and Structure Design Competition for the Undergraduate og International Alliance of Architecture University. Among them, the work LibraryN+·Cocoons born by the school of architecture and urban planning won the third prize of architectural design, and the work Xiange Bridge by the school of international education won the excellence award of civil structure. And our school won the excellent organization award; Four teachers, Men Yanhong, Zheng Hengxiang, Si Wei and Chen Jing, won the excellent adviser award.
