On December 12th, at the invitation of Professor Li Anggui , “Taishan Scholar” of school of thermal engineering, the professors delegation of the Arctic University of Norway (Björn Reidingar Sörensen) visited our university for academic exchange. Professor Sörensen has been a special professor at the Arctic University of Norway since 2006. He is the director of the department of building energy and materials engineering, where he teaches courses on energy and indoor environment. He has published more than 100 academic papers and reports in the fields of energy efficiency, HVAC systems, modeling and simulation of building energy systems, etc. He has served as a senior consultant for several industrial projects and is currently undertaking a number of EU funded projects for energy conservation retrofitted.

On the morning of 12th, Professor Sörensen’s delegation had an academic exchange with key teachers and young teachers of the school of thermal energy engineering in meeting room 617 of the science and technology building, and had a negotiation on joint training of graduate students and further cooperation in academic research. This exchange meeting was presided over by Professor Cui Ping, vice president of school of thermal energy engineering. Professor Zhang Linhua, president of the school of thermal engineering, first expressed his warm welcome to Professor Sörensen and his delegation, and introduced the history and general situation of Shandong Jianzhu University and the related majors of the school of thermal engineering. Professor Sörensen also briefly introduced the teaching status of graduate students in the Arctic University of Norway, and the teaching and research of HVAC and other related majors in the school of building energy and materials technology.

Subsequently, Professor Li Angui had an exchange and discussion with professors and scholars of the Arctic University of Norway on the relevant work currently carried out in Shandong Jianzhu University. Associate Professor Fasil Eregno of the Arctic University of Norway, gave a presentation entitled Water Quality Analysis and Modelling for Quantitative Health Risk Assessment-A Decision Support Tools to introduce his ongoing research in the field of water quality analysis. After the meeting, visiting professors, scholars and key teachers of the school had an in-depth exchange and discussion on their respective research fields and possible topics for future cooperation.

On the afternoon of 12th, professor Sörensen’s delegation visited the laboratory of the school accompanied by the school leaders and teachers. Professor Sörensen spoke highly of the construction of the laboratory and expressed his wish to visit our school in the future.
