School of Art Brief Introduction

School of Art of Shandong Jianzhu University originated from the direction of interior design in 1984, The Department of Art Design was established in 1999 and renamed School of Art in 2004. For more than 30 years, the college has been adhering to the purpose of "combining morality and flair, innovation and design of the future". The level of teaching and scientific research and the quality of education have been continuously improved, and it has 6 undergraduate majors and 8 professional directions of environmental design (environmental art design, landscape art design), industrial design, advertising, fine arts (Chinese painting, oil painting), landscape architecture, and visual communication design; and one undergraduate education program in environmental design in cooperation with Leeds Beckett University in the UK; it has three first-level discipline master's degree authorization points of design, fine arts and landscape architecture, and three professional master's degree authorization points of master's degree in MFA, MLA, ME. The School has obvious advantages in running schools, and is the first department in Shandong Province to set up a professional direction of interior design, and the earliest master's degree program in design art featuring environmental art design. At present, there are 2536 students in the school, including 311 postgraduate students.

The School has a team of teachers with high academic level, reasonable structure and distinctive characteristics. There are 129 teaching staff, including 118 full-time teachers, and the proportion of full-time teachers with master's degrees and doctors has reached more than 90%; there are 16 professors, 51 associate professors, 2 doctoral supervisors, and 56 master's supervisors; there are 2 experts who enjoy special government allowances of the State Council, 2 outstanding young and middle-aged interior architects in China, 2 famous teachers in Shandong Province, 1 model of ten masters in Shandong Province, and 1 leader in the decoration industry in Shandong Province.

The college adheres to the road of connotation development, and the discipline of design (design art) is the first batch of key disciplines of culture and art science in Shandong Province and the key disciplines of Shandong Province; the environmental design major is a national-level characteristic major and has been selected as a first-class undergraduate professional construction point in Shandong Province, the industrial design major is a characteristic major of Shandong Province, and the landscape architecture major is selected as a first-class undergraduate professional construction point in Shandong Province;《Comprehensive Design of Environmental Art》is a national-level high-quality course and a national-level high-quality resource sharing course; the Qilu Architectural Culture, Art and Environmental Design Research Base is the humanities and social science research base of Shandong Province, the Qilu Architectural Culture Research Center is the research base of intangible heritage of Shandong Province, and the Experimental Teaching Center of Art Design is the Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center of Shandong Province.

In recent years, the School has published more than 200 writings (textbooks) and published more than 500 academic papers; presided over 4 national social science fund projects, 1 national natural science foundation project, 1 national art fund project, more than 100 vertical scientific research projects; won more than 10 provincial and ministerial awards such as Shandong Provincial Social Science Outstanding Achievement Award, Shandong Taishan Literature and Art Award, And Shandong Provincial Teaching Achievement Award; the School pays attention to the cultivation of students' innovative spirit and entrepreneurial awareness, students have won more than 1,000 national, provincial and ministerial awards in the "Challenge Cup" and various professional competitions, and the employment rate of graduates has remained above 90% year, a large number of high-level application-oriented talents with "solid foundation, fast adaptation, strong ability and high quality" have been cultivated for the society.
