Program Overview
This is a Chinese-foreign cooperative education program adopting the "4+0" dual-degree training model, integrating high-quality educational resources from both Chinese and foreign partners. The curriculum fully introduces core courses from the University of Salamanca. Core courses are delivered in English by professors from the University of Salamanca, assisted by Chinese instructors, forming a "dual-teacher collaborative" teaching mechanism. Students complete their four-year studies at Shandong Jianzhu University. Upon fulfilling the credits specified in the training program, graduates will obtain both the undergraduate graduation certificate and bachelor’s degree certificate from Shandong Jianzhu University, as well as the bachelor’s degree certificate from the University of Salamanca.
The curriculum integrates international engineering education standards and the development needs of China’s software industry, emphasizes the cultivation of engineering practice and innovation capabilities, and is committed to training interdisciplinary software engineering talents with an international vision, solid theoretical foundations and outstanding engineering capabilities.
Building on the university’s academic strengths in architecture, energy and other fields, the Software Engineering program at Shandong Jianzhu University leverages its talent and research advantages in artificial intelligence, forming a distinctive disciplinary feature of "intelligent software + energy + architecture". Its national disciplinary ranking rose from 34th in 2024 to 21st in 2025, entering the top 20% nationwide and ranking 2nd in Shandong Province, making it a core pillar of the university’s "Information and Intelligence" disciplinary cluster.

Closely aligned with the strategic needs of high-quality development of the software industry in China and Shandong Province, and actively integrated into the global wave of software technology development, the program adheres to the educational philosophy of fostering virtue through education. It cultivates talents who embody core socialist values, humanistic literacy and professional ethics, systematically master relevant theories, core methods and engineering skills in software engineering, and possess strong capabilities in software system design and implementation. Graduates will be capable of engaging in software research and development, testing, operation and maintenance and other work in the information technology field with a broad international vision, cross-cultural communication skills and a spirit of lifelong learning, becoming high-quality application-oriented professionals with global competence.
Through the integrated training of the Chinese-foreign cooperative education model, students will develop the following core competencies:
Uphold core socialist values, humanistic literacy, professional ethics and social responsibility, and actively serve the nation and society.
Be competent in the research and development, testing, operation and maintenance, technical support and project management of application-level software systems.
Proactively track and adapt to international technological trends in software engineering, develop a broad international vision, and grow into software designers, R&D engineers, testing engineers, operation engineers, project managers and other professionals capable of meeting international job requirements.
Possess sound cross-cultural communication skills, teamwork spirit and team management capabilities, and be able to serve as technical backbones or principal leaders in international software engineering projects.
Have lifelong learning abilities, continuously improve professional competence and literacy, and proactively adapt to the evolving global society and software industry environment.

In addition, the curriculum incorporates general education elements of international engineering education such as risk assessment, information recovery, technical ethics, laws and regulations to improve students’ comprehensive literacy and professional responsibility.

Graduates may work in various enterprises and public institutions, government departments, financial institutions, medical systems, Internet companies, information technology consulting and software development enterprises, engaging in software system analysis and design, software development and testing, enterprise-level application system architecture design and development, Internet application front-end development, data storage and testing, information system project management, technical support and operation and maintenance, IT department management and business process optimization, e-commerce, portal and mobile application platform development, search engine optimization (SEO), information security and business data analysis, etc.
Meanwhile, relying on the international recognition of dual degrees in the global education system and their wide acceptance in multinational enterprises, graduates may enter the overseas job market and work for multinational technology corporations, international Internet enterprises, overseas Chinese-funded information technology service institutions, international fintech companies, global IT consulting and outsourcing service enterprises, overseas R&D centers and overseas information technology departments. They can be engaged in international software development and testing, collaborative management of cross-border IT projects, R&D and operation of Internet products for global markets, deployment and maintenance of enterprise information systems overseas, information security and compliance management under international standard systems, cross-border data services and technical consulting, information technology support in global supply chains, as well as cutting-edge software technology research and innovative practice in international research institutions and high-tech multinational enterprises.
Graduates may also pursue master’s or doctoral degrees in Software Engineering, Computer Science and Technology, Data Science and Artificial Intelligence Engineering and related disciplines, or engage in research and development in high-level research institutions and universities at home and abroad.
