Program Overview

Data Science and Artificial Intelligence is one of the most dynamic and influential interdisciplinary fields in current technological transformation. With the rapid development of big data, cloud computing, the Internet of Things and other technologies, the deep integration of artificial intelligence and data science is profoundly reshaping industries such as industry, healthcare, energy, transportation and finance, driving society toward intelligent and digital transformation.

This master’s program is a Chinese-foreign cooperative education initiative adopting a "2+0" training model, integrating high-quality educational resources from both Chinese and foreign partners. Leveraging the profound expertise of both partner institutions in engineering, computer science, applied mathematics and related fields, and drawing on advanced international educational concepts and curriculum systems, the program responds to the needs of global digital transformation by cultivating high-level interdisciplinary talents with solid theoretical foundations, outstanding engineering capabilities and interdisciplinary vision.

Students complete the entire two-year study in China. Upon meeting the requirements, graduates will be awarded a master’s degree by the University of Salamanca, Spain, realizing domestic education with dual recognition both at home and abroad. The quality of talent development is fully aligned with European higher education standards.

Adopting the core philosophy of "data-driven, intelligent empowerment and engineering-oriented", the program attaches equal importance to theory and practice. It is committed to cultivating professionals capable of designing, implementing and leading innovative solutions in artificial intelligence and data science, so as to meet the urgent demand for high-end talents in national strategic sectors including the digital economy, intelligent manufacturing and smart cities.

Training Objectives

Closely aligned with the strategic needs of the rapid development of the national artificial intelligence industry and deeply integrated into the rapidly evolving wave of global AI technological innovation, the program upholds the educational philosophy of fostering virtue through education. It aims to cultivate professionals with core socialist values, profound humanistic literacy and sound professional ethics.

Students will systematically master cutting-edge theories, key core methodologies and practical engineering skills related to data science and artificial intelligence engineering, and develop strong capabilities in AI system construction, data analysis and mining, intelligent application development and other technical areas.

With broad international vision, excellent cross-cultural communication skills and a persistent spirit of lifelong learning, graduates will be able to engage in algorithm research and development, model training, data analysis, intelligent system operation and maintenance and other work in the intelligent technology sector, growing into high-quality application-oriented professionals with global competitiveness who adapt to industrial development, and contributing to the high-quality development of the artificial intelligence industry.

Graduates are expected to achieve the following objectives:

  • Foster patriotism and collectivism, abide by laws and disciplines, and maintain good conduct. Master scientific thinking and methods, uphold a rigorous, realistic and pragmatic attitude in study and work, act with integrity, and adhere to academic ethics and norms.

  • Master fundamental theories, advanced technical methods and modern technological tools in the field of data science and artificial intelligence, and understand the current technical status and development trends of the discipline. Be able to establish appropriate computational models for practical engineering problems and possess strong competence in solving real-world issues in the field. Have teamwork abilities and be qualified for high-level engineering technical and engineering management positions.

  • Master a foreign language, be proficient in reading foreign literature and conducting oral and written communication in English within the discipline, and possess basic skills in writing academic papers in a foreign language.
