The School of Marxism of Shandong Jianzhu University（SJU）was founded in 2016. The predecessors of the school of Marxism  are the Teaching and Research Section of Public Theory Courses, the Teaching and Research Section of Moral Education which belonged to the school of Law and Political Science ( founded in 2006), and the Teaching and Research Section of Marxism-Leninism（founded in 1956）which was the foundation for the later departments of Social Sciences（founded in 1987）, Business Administration（founded in 1999）and Law and Politics（2004）. Currently，the school is the model school of Marxism  of Shandong province（since 2018）and one of the "Digital School of Marxism" alliance council units（since 2020）.

Teaching Staff

The School has a reasonable structure relationship in terms of professional titles, academic qualifications and academic research. There are 80 faculty members in the school，including 14 with senior professional titles，37 with PhD Degree and 4 PhD candidates. 1 teacher of the school has been selected as the teacher of the "Wonderful Lesson" program of the Ministry of Education of China, 5 teachers have been selected as the" Hundred Talents Project" of Shandong Province and 2 teachers have been listed in the "Hundred Key Teachers of Shandong Ideological and Political Courses". Besides, 1 teacher of the school was awarded the title of " Prominent teacher of Ideological and Political science" of Shandong province, 3 teachers were rated as" Excellent teacher" of SJU, 2 teachers were given the title of "The Most Beautiful Teacher " of SJU, and 4 teachers were awarded the title of " Top ten outstanding teacher" of SJU.

Discipline Construction

In 2006, the school successfully applied for the Master's Degree authorization in secondary discipline program of the Basic Principle of Marxism. In 2018, the discipline of Marxist theory of SJU has been officially listed as a first-class Master's Degree authorization station. The School has established complete Marxist discipline system. Currently, the main teaching and research units of the School contain 8 teaching and research departments, including the Department of Basic Principles of Marxism, the Department of Chinese Marxism, the Department of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, the Department of Basic Issues in Modern Chinese History, the Department of Ideological and Political Education, the Department of Situation and Policy, the Department of the History of Marxism and the department of graduate education and research. In addition, there are some scientific research institutions affiliated to the School, such as the Research Center for Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, the Craftsman Spirit Research Center, the Green Architecture Culture Research Center, the Marxism and Social Collaborative Development Research Center, and the Ethics and Rule of Law Research Center.

Course Education

The School of Marxism  offers 14 courses for undergraduate and graduate students of SJU, including: Ideology Morality and Rule of Law, Conspectus of Chinese Modern History, Basic Principle of Marxism, Introduction to Mao Tse-tung Thought and the System of theories of socialism with Chinese Characteristics, Policy and Political Situation Analysis, History of Marxism, Theory and Practice of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, Conspectus of Dialectics of Nature, Marxism and Methodology of Social Science and Marxism and Contemporary China, etc. Among them，5 courses (for undergraduates) have been selected as Top-Quality Courses of SJU.2 courses of ideological and political theory (for postgraduates) have been selected as SJU Online Courses, and 1 course ( for postgraduate) has been approved as Provincial Top-Quality Courses. There are 2 teachers of the school have won the second prize of Shandong Ideological and political Course teaching competition. 2 courses have been selected as the Online Lesson Preparation Platform for Teachers of Ideological and Political Courses in Colleges and Universities of China. In addition, the course "Ideological and Moral Cultivation and Basic Law Education" of the school was awarded as the "Golden Course" of ideological and political courses in Shandong Province.

Academic Research

In recent years, the school of Marxism  has published 8 academic monographs and 7 textbooks for students. Faculty members have published more than 20 academic articles in CSSCI journals, presided over 1 research projects supported by National Social Science Research Fund Project of China，4 research projects of Humanities and Social Science Research Project of Ministry of Education of China，28 research projects of Social Science Planning Research Project of Shandong Province, 1 key research projects of Shandong Qilu Outstanding Traditional Culture Inheritance and Innovation program, 2 key projects of Art and Science Research of Shandong Province and have won 3 awards of Shandong Province Social Science Outstanding growth Award. At present, the school has an independent public library and an academic reading room with a collection of more than 20,000 volumes and more than 80 kinds of professional journals and magazines.
