In order to strengthen the construction of the young teachers’ team, and tobuild a broad platformforacademic exchanges, andtocreate a lively academic exchange atmosphere, theSchoolof Thermal Engineering of Shandong Jianzhu University held the first session of the academic salon for young teachers entitled ‘Promoting exchanges for common development’ on May 12th. The event was conducted in the form of an onlineseminar, which included more than 150 teachers and students from the Schoolof Thermal Engineering.

Theseminarwas presided by Professor Ping Cuiwho is theDeputy Dean of theSchoolof Thermal Engineering.Professor Piqiang TanfromTongji Universitywas invitedtogive a presentationentitled ‘Carbon Emission Reduction and Management of Automotive Energy Power System under the Dual Carbon Strategy’ for the young teachers and studentsin the first place. In the report, Professor Tan first outlined the current situation of global automotive carbon emissions, and then compared the differentdevelopment directionsof automotive power systems under the dual-carbon strategywhere hefocusedondiscussionofthe technical routes and carbon emission paths of different power systems and clean fuels. Finally, Professor Tan pointed out thefuturedevelopment direction and path of China's automotive industry under the strategic goal of ‘carbon peaking and carbon neutrality’. After the report, Professor Tan interacted and discussed withwith participantsaboutthe content of the report.

After the expert report,Dr.HuiLi,Dr.Yan Gao and Dr. ShijieLi, representatives of young teachers of theSchoolof Thermal Engineering, respectively reported theirrecentresearch and achievements. For the preparation of biodiesel,Dr.Li shared the processingmethod of MOFs materials and their derivatives in the preparation of biodiesel; based on big data analysis,Dr.Gao introduced the multi-energy complementarity and load-shedding simulation research he has studied in recent years;Dr.Li introduced the two researchfieldsof carbon-based energy materials and energy storage and biomass thermochemical conversion.

This academic salon promotesin-depth exchanges in academic research among young teachers of theSchoolof Thermal Engineering and enlivened academic thinking. By listening to thepresentations of experts and teachers, the students expanded their scientific research horizons andgotinspiringidea fortheir own learning and scientific research work.
It is reported that the 2ndsession of theacademic salon activity for young teachers of theSchoolof Thermal Engineering will be carried out at19:00 on May 19th, when Professor WeiWangfromBeijing Institute of Petrochemical Technology will be invited togivean expertpresentation.
