I. Introduction to Shandong Jianzhu University
Shandong Jianzhu University, located in Jinan, the Spring City with a time-honored cultural history and well-favored landscape, is an engineering-based multidisciplinary university specialized in civil construction, covering science, management, arts, law and agriculture. Occupying over 1.3 million square meters, the university is situated in emerging east Jinan adjacent to the Olympic Sports Center, East Jingshi Road and Century Avenue. The university has access to convenient transportation and a full range of supporting facilities in the neighborhood. Among its current 1304 faculty members, 45.2% have senior titles, 75.1% have master or doctor degrees, three are academicians shared with other universities, four are members of State New Century Talents Project, 15 are State Council Experts for Special Allowance, 13 are young and middle-aged experts with outstanding contributions in Shandong, 12 are national prominent teachers, one is national outstanding teacher, six are Shandong provincial outstanding teachers, 12 are Shandong's prominent teachers, and seven are top ten prominent teachers in universities and colleges in Shandong.


The university enrolls students from 29 provinces (municipalities or autonomous regions) and currently has an enrolment of over 22,000 full-time students. The university consists of 15 schools (divisions) and a school of continuing education. The university runs 48 undergraduate majors under six disciplines of engineering, science, management, arts, law, and agriculture. It has 11 first-level disciplines and 52 second-level disciplines authorized to award master degrees, four disciplines authorized to award professional master degrees and 11 developing fields authorized to educate professional masters. The university hosts eight provincial key disciplines, five provincial key laboratories, five provincial engineering technology study centers, one provincial intangible cultural heritage study base and three Taishan Scholars.

II. Recruitment Posts and Number


In accordance with theNotice on Open Recruitment of Provincial Institutionsfor 2012 issued by the Organization Department of Shandong Provincial Committee of CPC and Shandong Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security, and based on the actual needs, Shandong Jianzhu University is intending to openly recruit 56 employees for professional technical positions (52 intermediate professional titles, four junior professional titles). See Summary Sheet of Positions in Open Recruitment of Provincial Institution (Appendix 1) for details.


III. Recruitment Criteria
A. Basic Requirements
1. A national of the People's Republic of China;
2. Abide by the Constitution of the People's Republic of China and other laws;
3. In good health;
4. Below the age of xx (born after day xx month xx, year xx); and

C. The recruitment excludes people who have received public punishment or been discharged from public employment, who have seriously violated regulations in civil service exams or open recruitment of public institutions and been disqualified to take such exams, students in full-time regular institutions of higher learning who are not graduating this year, in-active–service soldiers, and people who are disqualified for employment in accordance with laws and regulations. The applicants shall not apply for positions that involve conflict of interest due to their relatives.
IV. Recruitment Procedures
A. Release of Information on Recruitment
The recruitment information is made public on the websites of Shandong Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security (http: //www.sdhrss.gov.cn) and Shandong Jianzhu University. The application starts from the date of release of the recruitment information until June 24.
B. Junior Positions
1. Application
Means of Application: The applicants are to register in the field within the specified timeframe.
The registration documents include: (1) Originals and copies of academic certificates and diploma degrees recognized by the state, professional qualification certificates, identity card, and household register; (2) Recommendation for graduates' job application for students who will eligibly graduate this year from full-time regular institutions of higher learning; (3) Approval of application issued by the competent department or organization for applicants who are currently under employment; and (4) Registration Form of Application for Open Recruitment of Provincial Institutions and Letter of Commitment on Integrity for Applicants Applying for Positions in Institutions with personal signature, and two recent bareheaded one-inch photos developed by the same negative film.
2. Qualification Examination
The qualification examination continues throughout the recruitment process. The applicants shall fill in and submit their personal information in good faith. Any applicant who provides false information will be disqualified.
Applicants passing the qualification examination shall fill in the Approval Form of Open Recruitment of Shandong Jianzhu University (Appendix 2). Each applicant may only apply for one position. The time of written exam is subject to notice. Applicants shall go through the formalities for the written exam in the recruitment office of the university and claim the admission ticket. Applicants who fail to report in due time will be deemed as waiving their rights for written exam.
2. Exam Content and Methods
The exam consists of written exam and interview.
According to related regulations on open recruitment of provincial institutions, junior professionals are to be recruited through written exam and interview. In the case that the ratio of number of applicants to number of offers is smaller than 3:1, if the planned offer is one person, in principle the recruitment shall be cancelled; for positions more than two persons are planned, the planned number shall be decreased proportionally as specified.
(1) Written Exam
The written exam is a six-hour test on professional knowledge in centesimal system. The minimum passing score of the written exam is determined based on the number of applicants and actual situation of the exam.
(2) Interview
According to relevant regulations on open recruitment of provincial institutions, for junior positions, applicants will be interviewed at a ratio of 3:1 of number of applicants to number of offers. In principle, the interview shall be carried out within 10 days after the written exam results are released. The specific time and location for interview is subject to notice.
The interview will be in the form of simulation teaching, mainly to determine the applicants' capability to apply professional knowledge in class, their teaching methods and techniques. After the simulation teaching, experts will ask the applicants some questions to evaluate their theoretical attainment, professional knowledge, common sense, comprehensive analysis skills, language competence and flexibility.
After the interview, the final performance of applicants is calculated in centesimal system with the performance in written exam accounting for half and performance in interview accounting for the other half. The scores of written exam, interview and final are rounded up to two decimal places. After grading by experts, the applicants will be ranked based on their scores by position. For applicants for the same offer who have the same score, the one with a higher score in the written exam will be admitted.
C. Intermediate and Senior Positions
1. Application: Eligible persons may file their application by mailing of resume, e-mail, or registration in the office and fill in the Approval Form of Open Recruitment of Shandong Jianzhu University (Appendix 2) within the specified timeframe. Each person may only apply for one position.
2. Interview: In accordance with relevant regulations on open recruitment of provincial institutions, the procedures of recruitment for intermediate professional positions targeting doctors and for senior professional positions may be simplified after approval. An interview by means of trial lecture will suffice. The applicants shall carry the originals of the Approval Form of Open Recruitment of Shandong Jianzhu University for review at the interview.
The trial lecture consists of simulation teaching and question & answer, mainly to determine the applicants' capability to apply professional knowledge in class, their teaching methods and techniques, theoretical attainment, professional knowledge, common sense, comprehensive analysis skills, language competence and flexibility. After the interview, experts will grade the applicants incentesimalsystem. The applicants will be ranked by position based on their performance. A minimum admission score is set for the interview and those who obtain an equivalent or higher score are admitted to the physical exam.
D. Physical Exam
For each offered position, applicants of 1.2 times the planned employment number are qualified for the physical exam and applicants of the intended employment number will be admitted to physical exam in order of score. Vacancies which occur due to failed applicants in physical exam can be filled by applicants qualified for the physical exam for the same position at an equal number.
The physical exam shall be carried out in a hospital (provincial hospital in principle) specified by the university in accordance with the general standard of physical exam for admission of public servants, unless otherwise specified in national regulations or laws.
E. Review and Announcement by University
After the physical exam, the university's recruitment team will review and determine the personnel to be employed based on the exam results. The list of candidates will be made public on the website of Shandong Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security for seven working days. Without demur, the result will be submitted to Shandong Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security for approval and record. A Notice on Record of Recruited Personnel of Institutions will be issued to eligible candidates, with which they go through relevant formalities and sign labor contracts with the university to establish affiliation. The recruited employees will undergo a probation period in accordance with relevant regulations. Those who pass the probation will be formally employed and those who fail will have their labor contracts terminated.
