Teaching Team of Public Building Design Principle and Practice Courses
The Public Building Design Principle and Practice courses comprise the main courses for the students of Grade two to Grade four majoring in Architecture, and are taught by excellent team members who are in reasonable structures of age, education background and academic origin and have made significant achievements in various fields, such as teaching and research, reform practices, and curriculum development. In October 2006, the Public Building Design Principle and Practice course was awarded one of National Top-Quality Courses. The Evolution from Experience Imparting to Rational Construction, a study on teaching reform and practice of public building design, won the second prize of the Outstanding Teaching Achievement in Shandong Province in 2005. The Public Building Design Principle, a provincial pilot course for teaching reform, is rated as a course at domestic leading level. Their students won various awards in the appraisal of architectural designs among university students in China. The number of awards ranks top among all participants. In 2006, the discipline of architecture was awarded one of provincial characteristics disciplines in Shandong Province.
Liu Su, in charge of the team, is the dean and professor of the School of Architecture and Urban Planning, master instructor, national registered constructor, and national registered urban planner. He is also the member of the National Supervision Commission for Higher Education in Architecture, panel of experts of Jinan Urban Planning Commission, and Taian Government Decision-making Consulting Commission. He was awarded one of the "Qilu Evening News Cup" Top Ten Excellent Teachers in Shandong Province, Outstanding Teachers in Shandong Province, Young and Middle-Aged Academic Backbones and Candidates for Academic Leaders in Shandong Province, and Top-notch Talents for Their Professional Skills in Shandong Jianzhu University. He published more than 30 papers in various academic conferences and journals, such as the Journal of Architecture, Urban Planning, New Architecture, and Huazhong Architecture. He published five monographs as the principal author or co-author. He is taking charge of two research projects sponsored by the Department of Education and Science and Technology Committee of Shandong province. Since 1985, he has been teaching the course of Architecture Design for Grade two students majoring in Architecture. He took the lead in the study on teaching reform and practice of public building design – the Evolution from Experience Imparting to Rational Construction, which won the second prize of the Outstanding Teaching Achievement in Shandong Province in 2005. He lectured the Public Building Design Principle, which was awarded one of National Top-Quality Courses in 2006. His designs won many awards at various levels. For instance, He undertook the design of the library of the university, which were awarded the second prize of Excellent Investigation and Design Award by the Ministry of Construction in 2002, as well as the planning of the campus of Taishan College and detailed planning of the Century Garden Residential Quarter in Rongcheng, which won the second prize and third prize of Excellent Urban Planning and Design Award by the Ministry of Construction in 2002.
There are 19 team members, including three professors, seven associate professors, eight lecturers, and one teaching assistant, 52.6% having senior titles; two have doctor's degrees, 12 have master's degrees (including three would-be doctors), five have bachelor's degrees (including three would-be masters), 73.7% having master's degrees; one is above 50 years old, four are 40 to 50 years old, ten are 30 to 40 years old, three are 25 to 30 years old, boasting reasonable title structure, and high educational level, and the young and middle-aged as backbones.
The team members are conscientious, responsible, have good team spirit and work in harmonious and cooperative manner. They undertake different roles in teaching, including giving lectures and providing instructions on design practice. Young teachers are encouraged to grow up into lectures. They are all qualified and experienced in teaching students in related fields and therefore, rated "Excellent" and "Good" by their students in teaching appraisal.
The team focuses on both the academic and psychological development of students, has good team spirit, solid academic foundation, and excellent competence, combines the teaching with practice, and works with preciseness and practicability. In recent years, the team is growing rapidly by arranging the elder teachers to mentoring young teachers and young teachers to participate in teaching activities, such as trial lecture, tutoring, review of students' designs, and practice guidance. The experienced teacher will show how to give a lecture before young teachers give trial lectures. Teachers will be arranged to audit young teacher's lectures from time to time. Studies and discussions on course content and teaching methods will be regularly organized. Young teachers are educated to love students, teaching and education, and are arranged to attend part-time degree programs and academic exchanges in China and abroad. Young and middle-aged teachers are also encouraged to participate in research projects.
With years of development and improvement of the awareness of reform and innovation, significant progress has been made in the teaching capabilities of the young teachers of the team, laying a firm foundation for further improvement of the teaching quality. In addition, the team has made impressive achievements in scientific research. In recent years, the team has undertaken a dozen of teaching research projects (some at provincial/ministerial level and some entrusted by enterprises) with a total investment of over RMB one million and published 60-plus academic papers.
II Teaching Team of Housing Architecture Courses
Housing Architecture courses are developed mainly by the Architectural Technology Teaching and Research Office under the School of Architecture and Urban Planning, including courses of Housing Architecture, Building Construction, and Introduction to Architecture for disciplines of architecture, urban planning, environmental art, project management, land resource management, and energy engineering.
There are 16 team members, including four professors, six associate professors, five lecturers, and one teaching assistant, among which 82% have master's or doctor's degrees. The team includes talents from "Project 211" universities, such as Tianjin University, Tongji University, Southeast University, and Harbin Institute of Technology. All team members are young and middle-aged backbone staff at age from 26 to 50 with reasonable structures of title and age and excellent comprehensive competence.
Cui Yanqiu, in charge of the team, is a professor of the School of Architecture and Urban Planning, master instructor, director of the Architectural Technology Teaching and Research Office, academic leader of the architectural technology science, professor of the key posts in Shandong Jianzhu University. She was awarded one of the Young and Middle-Aged Academic Backbones and Candidates for Academic Leaders in Shandong Province in 2002, Top-notch Talents for Their Professional Skills in Shandong Jianzhu University in 2004, Excellent Female Workers in Shandong Province in 2006, Outstanding Teachers in Shandong Jianzhu University, and Outstanding Teachers in Shandong Province in 2008. She is now recommended for the appraisal of National Outstanding Teachers. In term of teaching, she gives lectures of Housing Architecture, Building Construction, Introduction to Architecture, and Structure and Form in Architecture to undergraduate students. She provides guidance for the course design of Housing Architecture and graduation projects of undergraduate students. She was awarded one of Excellent Bachelor's Degree Thesis Instructors in Shandong Jianzhu University. In term of teaching research, she has undertaken several teaching research projects in recent years, among which three were awarded the provincial excellent achievements in teaching, and she published 20-plus papers. She has edited more than ten textbooks, among which the Housing Architecture (China Electric Power Press) was listed among national textbooks for the 11th Five-Year Plan period, the Introduction to Architecture (China Construction Engineering Press) was listed among Civil Engineering Discipline textbooks for the 11th Five-Year Plan period. She takes charge of the Housing Architecture course, which was awarded one of the Provincial Top-Quality Courses in 2005 and National Top-Quality Courses in 2007. In term of scientific research, she is committed to the research on eco-friendly buildings and energy saving technologies and has completed many research projects, among which four won Shandong Provincial Science & Technology Progress Award and two won provincial design awards. She won the second prize of the Shandong Province "Qilu New Rural Residence" – Excellent Design in Rural Residential Buildings in 2006, excellent design prize of the Third China (Weihai) International Architectural Design Contest. She is now taking charge of four research projects at provincial level, among which two are under the Science and Technology Program of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of the People's Republic of China and one is under the Shandong Provincial Educational Innovation Program.

III Teaching Team of Intelligent Building Technology Courses
Intelligent building technology courses are characteristic courses of majors such as Electrical Engineering and Automation, Electronic Information Engineering, Communication Engineering, Architecture, and Architecture Environment & Equipment Engineering of Shandong Jianzhu University, mainly including courses in computer network, fire protection and security of buildings, and building equipment automation and system integration by means of classroom teaching, experiments, course design, and graduation projects.
1. Team building
The teaching team of intelligent building technology courses was founded and developed with the Electrical Engineering and Automation which is one of the early undergraduate majors of Shandong Jianzhu University. Over the years, considering the needs for industrial and social development and the characteristics of this major while taking the university's own advantages, the teaching team established the objective of cultivating talents for mainly serving the construction industry, and formulated a talent cultivation plan with characteristic courses in "Building Electrical Engineering & Intelligent System". Thanks to all these efforts, Electrical Engineering and Automation was elected as a brand major of Shandong Jianzhu University in 2006, as a provincial characteristic major in 2007, and as a national characteristic major in 2008. The development and changes of the team are as follows:
Initiated in 1997, this team set up the earliest intelligent building laboratory in Shandong Province. Taking this opportunity, some teachers participated in the construction of the lab and teaching of intelligent building technology courses. At the early stage of team founding, there were only three teachers, including two with a master's degree, showing relatively poor education background and low professional titles. With the development of teaching of the intelligent building technology courses and building of the intelligent technology lab, the team attached great importance to self-cultivation and introduction of high-level talents to improve its overall quality. By now, the team has already cultivated two Ph.D. and two would-be Ph.D., and has brought in two high-level talents. A teaching team well structured in organization, age, academic origin, discipline, and education background is gradually taking shape.
2. Staffing
Currently, this team has seven teachers, including four professors, two associate professors, and one lecturer. Three of team members hold a doctoral degree and two hold a master's degree, while two are below 40 years old, four between 40 and 50, and one above 50 years old.
The team members are as follows:

Xie Xiuying: professor, 49 years old, engaged in classroom teaching and giving instructions on course design and graduation project;
(2) Backbone teachers
Duan Peiyong: professor, Ph.D., 41 years old, engaged in classroom teaching, laboratory building, and giving instructions on innovation in science and technology;
Zhang Guiqing: professor, Ph.D., 47 years old, engaged in classroom teaching, laboratory building, and giving instructions on innovation in science and technology;
Zhang Yongjian: professor, bachelor, 52 years old, engaged in classroom teaching and giving instructions on experiments, course design, and graduation project;
Yu Haiying: associate professor, Ph.D., 48 years old, engaged in classroom teaching and giving instructions for experiments, course design, and graduation project;
Zhang Mei: associate professor, master, 39 years old, engaged in experiment teaching and giving instructions on course design and graduation project;
Shi Guoping: lecturer, master, 30 years old, engaged in experiment teaching and giving instructions on course design and graduation project.
3. Achievements
This team gives lectures and provides guidance to the experiments, course design, graduation project, and other relevant practices. After years of teaching practices, this team has accumulated rich experience in teaching and reform, creates an environment for open and equal communication and learning, and has good team spirit. Relying on the provincial key discipline and key laboratory for intelligent building technologies, a teaching team well structured in organization, age, academic origin, discipline, and education background is gradually taking shape with the outstanding teachers as the core and professional teachers as the backbone.
This team has long been committed to the development and reform of the curriculum and strengthening the characteristic education of intelligent building technologies in disciplines related to information and electrical engineering relying on the superior disciplines and fields. The team members have proactively undertaken teaching research projects, including five projects at and above provincial level and ten projects at university level, undertaken the development of the Intelligent Building Technologies Laboratory, enhanced the communication with other universities around the world by means of teaching seminars, academic visits and exchanges, and compilation of textbooks, etc. This team has many teaching research fruits, such as textbooks, which have been put into teaching practice by many other universities. In the past five years, achievements made by the team members include one first prize and three third prizes of Shandong Province Higher Education Teaching Achievement Award, one third prize of Excellent Achievements in Experimental Technologies in Shandong Province, one key laboratory (Intelligent Building Technologies Laboratory) approved by the Department of Science & Technology of Shandong Province (DSTSP), six textbooks and reference books, two lecture handouts, and 12 papers on teaching research. In addition to the teaching of undergraduates, the team members also proactively undertake scientific research projects related to intelligent buildings, including four ones approved by the DSTSP, among which the TCP/IP-based Intelligent System for Residential Area was awarded the third prize of Shandong Provincial Science & Technology Progress Award, and they have published more than 40 academic papers. The total investment in scientific research is more than RMB 700,000.
Over the years, the team members have accumulated rich experience and made many achievements in teaching and research related to intelligent building technologies, thus enjoying high reputation in this field in China. The backbone teachers in this team hold important positions in relevant academic communities.
Professor Duan Peiyong is the member of the Intelligent Buildings Steering Group for Higher Education approved by the former Ministry of Construction and the Committee of Experts of Intelligent Building Technologies of Shandong Province, director of the National Electrical Design Technical Cooperation and Information Exchange Network, and head of the Intelligent Building Committee of Shandong Institute of Automation.
Professor Zhang Yongjian is the member of the Committee of Experts of Intelligent Building Technologies approved by the former Ministry of Construction, Expert Group of Security and Protection of Shandong Public Security Bureau, Committee of Experts in Intelligent Building Technologies of Engineering Intelligent Design Branch of China Exploration and Design Association, and secretary general of the Committee of Experts in Intelligent Building Technologies of Shandong Province.
Professor Zhang Guiqing is the member of the expert committee/deputy director of the Shandong branch of the Intelligent Building and Building Automation Committee of the Chinese Association of Automation, and the member of the Intelligent Building Branch of the Electrical Engineering Education Committee of the China Electrotechnical Society.
Professor Xie Xiuying is the chairman of the Shandong Illuminating Society and member of Building Electrical Committee of Shandong Society of Civil Engineering
Dr. Yu Haiying is the member of the Intelligent Building and Building Automation Committee of the Chinese Association of Automation and its expert committee.
VI. Teaching Team of Engineering Cost Appraisal Courses
The teaching team members of engineering cost appraisal courses are mainly from the Engineering Cost Teaching and Research Office, School of Management Engineering, Shandong Jianzhu University. Through more than 20 years' development, the teaching team has now seven teachers, including two professors, three associate professors, and two lecturers. Three of them are master supervisors, one is a Shandong Province Famous Teacher, and another one is a young and middle-aged academic backbone and key-post professor. All team members hold a bachelor's degree or above, including four masters and Ph.Ds. accounting for 57%. One member is above 50 years old, three between 40 and 50, two between 30 and 40, and one less than 30 years old. Therefore, the ratio of the number of senior teachers to that of middle-aged teachers and young teachers is 1:3:3. The academic origins of the teachers are appropriately distributed, namely, Tsinghua University, Tianjin University, China Three Gorges University, Southeast University, and Shandong Jianzhu University. Five lead teachers and two instructors are sufficient, and the yearly average ratio of the number of teachers to that of students is 1:50 to 1:60. Therefore, this is a well structured teaching and research team in professional titles, education background, age, and academic origins.
Besides, 11 teachers are also certified and hold a second professional title such as cost engineers, real estate appraisers, supervision engineers, public valuers, and consulting engineers (investment). In the past 17 years, some of the team members have participated in setting and grading examination papers for such professional titles as registered supervision engineers, cost engineers, and constructors, served as vice secretary of Shandong Province Engineering Cost Association and experts of bid evaluation for property and engineering projects on a part-time basis, and participated in feasibility study and engineering cost appraisal and auditing of more than 20 engineering projects. All these have laid a solid foundation for setting up the engineering cost courses that involve engineering practices, operable skills, and comprehensive applications.
This teaching team has long been giving lectures on the backbone courses to Engineering Management and Engineering Cost majors. The backbone courses include Engineering Cost, Civil Works Cost Appraisal, Decoration Works Cost Appraisal, Analysis on Engineering Cost Cases, Project Quota Theory, Construction Project Budget, and Construction Project Quota and Budget. The team also gives lectures on Engineering Cost Appraisal to six majors including Information Management and Information System and Accounting. The yearly average teaching intensity reaches up to more than 400 credits. The team members are in their prime time, full of vigor, serious, responsible, experienced, passionate, and energetic, and they attach great importance to the combination of theories and practices. This guarantees good teaching quality and outcomes which win the teachers good reputation from peers and students.
Since its founding in 1992, this team has always been dedicated to the establishment and reform of engineering cost appraisal courses, accumulated rich teaching and management experience, and achieved precious accomplishments.
1. Won two provincial prizes for excellent teaching accomplishments. In 2001, the Research on Development of Construction Project Budget Course won the first prize for excellent teaching accomplishments of Shandong Institute of Architecture and Civil Engineering (predecessor of Shandong Jianzhu University) and the third prize for excellent teaching accomplishments in Shandong Province. In 2005, the Engineering Cost Appraisal Course Reform and Development won the first prize for excellent teaching accomplishments of Shandong Institute of Architecture and Civil Engineering and the third prize for excellent teaching accomplishments of Shandong Province.
2. Undertook provincial teaching and research subjects. From 2001 to 2006, the team undertook and completed the Shandong provincial teaching and research program "Shandong Province 21 Century Education Reform Pilot Course: Engineering Cost Appraisal" and this program passed the acceptance of the Department of Education of Shandong Province.
3. Engaged in top-quality course development. The Engineering Cost Appraisal course was elected as the top-quality course of Shandong Jianzhu University in 2006 and as Shandong provincial top-quality course in 2007. As required by top-quality course development, the team set up web pages and developed and integrated resources, providing a good means for students' learning.
4. Engaged in the development of textbooks. Since 1992, the team members, as main drafters, have prepared textbooks for these courses for several times. With close consideration given to the national policy reform and adjustment in the field of engineering cost appraisal, the team enriched the course contents, perfected the textbooks and reference books for teaching, and completed 10 textbooks on engineering cost appraisal and published them through national presses. Five of the 10 textbooks are included in the 10th Five-Year Plan textbooks for higher education and national 11th Five-Year Plan textbooks for higher education.
5. Improved courses and implemented teaching practices. While continuously exploring the characteristics of engineering cost appraisal courses, the team has set up different credit hours, teaching plans, course contents, and teaching links as well as prepared different teaching programs based on requirements of different majors. To reinforce practices in the courses while considering the characteristics of the courses, the team members summarized their practical experience obtained during engineering project construction and incorporated them into exercises, course design, and graduation project materials. Through the teaching process covering exercises, course design, practices, graduation project, and so forth, the team members give instructions to students to help them understand and master the course contents as well as train and improve their skills in measurement, accounting, and cost appraisal for engineering projects.
6. Established the course-skill contest system. Considering the course contents and the applications of information technology in the engineering cost field, the team cooperated with Glodon, a computer software company in Beijing, to hold "Glodon Cup" measurement and accounting software contest in Shandong Jianzhu University once a year. This contest has been held for three consecutive years. The team members provided training courses respectively at primary, intermediate, and senior levels to nearly 900 students majored in Engineering Management, Engineering Cost, Civil Engineering, and so on. This contest greatly stimulates the students' learning interest and enthusiasm in engineering cost courses. Especially during May through September 2008, the team held the first "Glodon Cup" measurement and accounting software contest among higher-education institutions sponsored by China Construction Education Association. This contest involved 47 colleges and universities nationwide, and the students from the Engineering Cost major of Shandong Jianzhu University won four first and second prizes.
7. Engaged in the promotion and application of accomplishments. In undergraduate teaching and practices and by means of discussion on teaching, academic visits, textbook preparation, subject cooperation, and so on, the team strengthened communication with peers in and outside Shandong Province and was recognized by them. The team's teaching research accomplishments such as textbooks are adopted by 20-plus higher-education institutions in and outside Shandong Province.
While doing a good job in undergraduate teaching, the team members, in face of increasing challenges raised by global economic integration, information technology, and innovative financial instruments to conventional laws of industrial economy, operation mechanism of building market, as well as production mode, management philosophy, and management mode of building companies, the team did research on leading development and new knowledge in the engineering construction field, explored leading academic achievements and mastered new information about development and research direction in Engineering Cost Appraisal, and proactively explored the field of management science and engineering, especially subjects in project investment and cost. The team members won one second prize of Shandong Provincial Science & Technology Progress Award, two third prizes for excellent achievements in soft science in Shandong Province, and published more than 50 academic papers. They also undertook one subject sponsored by National Natural Science Foundation of Shandong, one sub-subject under Shandong provincial science and technology major projects, two soft science programs sponsored by the Ministry of Construction of China, and five subjects entrusted by enterprises. The research investment amounts to more than RMB300,000.
As the major teaching team in Project Investment and Cost, the teaching team greatly promoted the development of the Engineering Management major. In 2007, Engineering Management was elected as the characteristic major of Shandong Jianzhu University. In 2008, the Engineering Management Major Assessment Committee under the Ministry of Construction of China assessed the Engineering Management major of Shandong Jianzhu University. The experts from the committee believed that the achievements in Project Investment and Cost presented the characteristics of education in Engineering Management and that this team played an important role in teaching and research for offering master's degree for Management Science and Engineering. In addition, the Engineering Cost, mainly founded by this team in 2004, was elected as a brand major for continuing education in Shandong Province in 2008. Since its founding, this major has always been preferred by students and graduates from this major are popular among employers, showing significant influence of this major in and outside Shandong Province.
V Teaching Team of Engineering Project Management Courses
Initiated in 1987, the teaching team of engineering project management courses is among the early ones for professional education in Shandong province. With over 20 years' development, it has gained profound humanistic connotations, solid professional knowledge, broad development horizon, and strong sense of innovation, which make it a high-level teaching team in Shandong Province. By taking "benefiting homeland and serving society" as the philosophy for talent cultivation, it has made outstanding contribution to the development of local economy and the training of professionals in project management. Highlighting rigorousness in every link and innovative thinking in teaching, the team proactively conducts teaching reform and practices, continuously enriches contents of courses and improves teaching quality. Therefore, it has gradually formed the unique features including targeting actual need of engineering management, highlighting training in engineering project management skills, advocating teaching with involvement of students, guiding independent learning, and cultivating innovation capability, and has achieved fruitful achievements, including one project supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China, one provincial excellent course, one provincial teaching and research program, and one first prize for excellent teaching achievement in the university.
In this team, there are currently two key-post professors, four associate professors, three lecturers, and five of them holding a doctor's degree, respectively accounting for 22%, 45%, 33%, and 56% of the total number.
Profiles of leaders and other members of the team are as follows.
Xu Youquan is a key-post professor of the discipline of Management Science and Engineering in Shandong Jianzhu University, master supervisor, Ph.D. of Engineering Management of Tongji University, CIOB Chartered Builder, National Registered Supervision Engineer, president of School of Management Engineering, director of Engineering Management Institute, an editor of the journal of Project Management, a member of Fundamental Research Committee of CAEC (China Association of Engineering Consultants), director of Construction Management Research Sector of Architectural Society of China, director of Construction Economy Research Sector of Architectural Society of China. His research focuses on urban construction and engineering project management, as well as construction supervision. He gives lectures on Engineering Project Management, Introduction to Project Management, and other courses. He has published 39 papers in professional journals and at international conferences, led five provincial or ministerial subjects and 16 horizontal subjects, and published three textbooks through China Architecture & Building Press. His research achievements won two second prizes, including the Research on System, Legality and Mechanism of International Construction Industry: Thinking and Suggestions on Reform of Chinese Construction Industry Management in 21 Century winning the second prize of Science & Technology Progress Award of State Education Commission, and Thinking and Suggestions on Development of Supervision Industry in China winning second prize of Excellent Scientific Research Achievement Award of Colleges and Universities in Shandong. Currently, his two science & technology plan programs supported by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, including System and Mechanism Research on Operation and Management of Urban Land and Urban Public Facility (No.: 06-R5-06) and Research on Management Information System for Large-Scale Construction Project Based on Computer Networks (No.: 06-K9-20), have passed the assessment and been recognized as leading scientific researches in China by the Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of Shandong province. At present, he is leading the Research on Service-driven Organization for Interest-oriented Large-scale Engineering Program (71072046) supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Research on Innovation in University-Enterprise-Cooperation Education in Engineering Management (2009263) which is a provincial-level teaching reform subject.
Zhang Zhigang is a key-post professor of the discipline of Management Science and Engineering in Shandong Jianzhu University and master's supervisor. He gives lectures on Engineering Project Management, Construction Enterprise Management, and other courses. In recent years, he has published 20 academic papers in professional journals, contributed four textbooks as the principal author, chief reviewer or co-author, and won one first prize and one second prize of excellent teaching achievement award for colleges and universities in Shandong province. In 2007, he won the second prize of excellent research achievement award for colleges and universities in Shandong province. At present, he is leading and participating in three longitudinal subjects sponsored by provincial and ministerial authorizations.
Born in 1976, Qi Xia is a Ph.D. graduated from Southeast University and an associate professor. Her research focuses on urban construction and engineering management and investment & financing of construction project. She gives lectures on Engineering Project Management, Quality Control of Construction Project, and Investment & Financing of Construction Project. She is director of the teaching & research section under the School of Management Engineering. She has published 23 papers in core journals, among which three are indexed by EI and one indexed by SCI. She has led one project supported by the Research Award Fund for Middle-aged and Young Scientists in Shandong Province, participated in five national, provincial or ministerial subjects, and won prizes in teaching contests in Shandong Jianzhu University for many times. She won Excellent Teaching Quality Award in Shandong Jianzhu University in 2009, and was recognized as the Outstanding Teacher of Shandong Jianzhu University in 2010.
Born in 1978, Wang Dedong is a Ph.D graduated from Tianjin University and an associate professor. His research focuses on engineering project management. He gives lectures on Construction Regulations, and Engineering Project Management. He has published nine academic papers, for seven of which he is the first author, and 5 of which are indexed by EI. He has participated in two national scientific research projects including Research on Service-driven Organization for Interest-oriented Large-scale Engineering Program (ranked third) supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China, and Research on Management Information System for Large-Scale Construction Project Based on Computer Networks (ranked third) supported by the Ministry of Construction of China. He participated in the construction of Engineering Project Management in 2009, which is a provincial-level top-quality course, and the Research on Innovation in University-Enterprise-Cooperation Education in Engineering Management in 2010, which is a provincial-level teaching and research project. In addition, he took part in two university-wide programs in 2009 including the construction of top-quality course Engineering Project Management, and a project supported by Doctorate Fund of Shandong Jianzhu University.
Born in 1978, Li Xiangjun is a master, a Registered Constructor, and a Registered Supervision Engineer. His research focuses on bidding and contract management of projects, and laws and regulations of engineering construction. He gives lectures on Contract Management of Construction Engineering, Construction Regulations, Risk and Insurance of Engineering Projects, and Management Cases of Engineering Projects. He has published 12 papers, for nine of which he is the first author, participated in one subject supported by the provincial social science fund, led the Research on Management of Second-level Contracting Mechanism in Construction Project supported by the Department of Construction of Shandong Province, participated in one subject supported by the Research Award Fund for Middle-aged and Young Scientists in Shandong Province. He participated in the construction of Engineering Project Management, which is a provincial top-quality course in 2009, contributed the textbooks including Laws and Regulations of Construction Project as a chief editor in 2005 and Engineering Project Management as an editor in 2010, and was granted Excellent Teaching Quality Award of Shandong Jianzhu University in 2008 and 2010.
Born in 1971, Yang Jie is a post-Ph.D. graduated from Tsinghua University and an associate professor. His research focuses on engineering project management and safety management. He gives lectures on Safety Management of Engineering Projects, Quality Management of Engineering Projects, Course Design of Engineering Project Management, and other courses. He has published nearly 30 papers in core journals, contributed three textbooks as associate chief editor or editor, in which the Engineering Project Management is included as a national textbook for general institutions for higher education during 11th Five-Year Plan, and recognized as top-quality textbook by China Electricity Council and China Electric Power Press. His four research subjects have been awarded prizes, in which Analyzing and Decision Making for Construction Site Selection of University's New Campus (ranked first) and Research on Development Strategy of Construction Industry in Shandong Province (ranked third) were awarded third prizes of Shandong Provincial Science & Technology Progress Award, and the other two subjects were awarded second prizes of Soft Science Outstanding Achievement Award of Shandong Province. At present, he is participating two longitudinal subjects and one horizontal subject which are all at provincial or ministerial level.
Born in 1956, Zhou Jianguo, is an associate professor. His research focuses on engineering project management and construction organization of building engineering. He gives lectures on Engineering Project Management, Construction Organization of Building Engineering, and Management Cases of Engineering Projects. Now he is a teacher of the teaching & research section under the School of Management Engineering and has long been engaged in teaching, research, and teaching reform of engineering management major. He has led three teaching reform subjects, published six papers on teaching & research, and contributed four textbooks as a chief editor including Engineering Project Management. The teaching and research subjects he led or participated in brought him many prizes. For example, the Research on Practical Teaching of Engineering Management Major and System Study on Engineering Project Management Course won the second prizes throughout the university and the third prizes of provincial soft science awards respectively, and the textbook of Engineering Project Management was awarded the third prize of Soft Science Outstanding Achievement Award of Shandong Province. In 2006, he was recognized as an Excellent Dissertation Instructor in Shandong province.
VI Teaching Team for Basic Courses of Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering
The teaching team for basic courses of Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering is excellent in professional competency and qualification. Fourteen teachers in total compose the team with a proper knowledge and age structure, among which are five professors, nine associate professors, eight with a doctor's degree, four with a master's degree, and all of them with senior professional titles. In addition, the teachers in this team obtained degrees from prestigious universities and institutes including Southeast University, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Tongji University, Tianjin University and China University of Mining and Technology, by which the team has improved its academic origin.
The teachers in the team has led or participated in many provincial and university-wide teaching reform programs, including Shandong Experimental Major of Civil Engineering, Construction and Reform of Civil Engineering Major in Local Universities, Practice Reform and Innovative System Building of Civil Engineering Major, Reform and Practice of Research-oriented Teaching in Non-research University, and Shandong Basic Discipline Construction Program: Soil Mechanics. The achievements involve discussion and reform of education plan of specified majors, optimization and integration of courses and teaching contents, reform and operation mechanism building of practical teaching, reform of teaching means and methods, building of courses, and examination database. The team is leading four top-qualify courses for general higher education in Shandong province, namely, Soil Mechanics, Basic Design Principle, Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering, and Geology in Civil Engineering, as well as Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering, a characteristic course for adult education in Shandong province. Achievements in the courses above are well applied in Civil Engineering, Management Engineering, Transportation Engineering, and other majors of Shandong Jianzhu Universities, and are highly praised after being exchanged in conferences of presidents (directors) from civil engineering schools (departments) of nationwide general institutions for higher education. Some of the achievements have played an important role in improving teaching quality after being applied by colleges and universities. Most teachers in the team have gained sound knowledge structure and rich experience through many years' teaching. In addition, the team has a strong sense of responsibility and cooperation. Therefore, since the university begun to conduct online evaluation of teaching performance, the whole team faculty has always been ranked top, the lead teachers gaining top scores and many teachers being granted the excellent teaching quality award of Shandong Jianzhu University. Teachers in the team proactively conduct researches, and have led or participated in 11 provincial or ministerial teaching reform programs which won one first prize, one second prize, and one third prize of Shandong Provincial Excellent Teaching Achievement Award, contributed six textbooks including textbooks for higher education in China in the 21st century and textbooks for education during 10th and 11th Five-Year Plans, one of which was awarded the second prize of Shandong Excellent Textbook Award for Colleges and Universities. The lead teachers, with good virtue, dedication to career, and meticulous scholarship, have been recognized as an outstanding worker, excellent teacher, and other honorable titles in Shandong Jianzhu University for many times.
Teachers in this team have published over 100 papers in domestic and foreign academic journals including Chinese Journal of Geotechnical Engineering, Journal of Building Structures, China Civil Engineering Journal, and 30 of the papers are indexed by EI and SCI. They also led and participated in over 10 national, provincial and ministerial scientific researches including one supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China, which won many provincial or ministerial science & technology awards. Teachers in the team have rich experience in engineering practice, and two of them are National Registered Geotechnical Engineers, two are Registered Constructors, one is Registered Supervision Engineer, and one is Registered Cost Engineer. They led and participated in design, reinforcement, and construction of many projects, which laid a solid foundation for the cultivation of excellent engineers.
As the team leader, Chen Qihui has long been engaged in teaching and research in institutions for higher education and participated in four provincial teaching reform researches, among which, Construction and Reform Practice of Civil Engineering Major in Local Universities won the first prize of the Shandong Excellent Teaching Achievement Award in 2005, and Practice Reform and Innovative System Building of Civil Engineering Major won the second prize of the Shandong Excellent Teaching Achievement Award in 2009. In recent years, he has led many researches supported by the Ministry of Construction and the Doctorate Fund, winning one third prize of Shandong Excellent Scientific Research Achievement Award of Colleges and Universities, and published two monographs and textbooks. With good virtue, dedication to career, and meticulous scholarship, he was recognized as an outstanding worker, excellent member of Communist Party of China, excellent teacher, and won excellent teaching quality award in Shandong Jianzhu University for many times.
